There is no doubt that podcasting is in the ascendancy and this step-by-step session will teach you all you need to know about how and why it can work for your brand.

We’ll explore why podcasting is more popular than ever, how easy it is to produce your own podcasts, where to upload and host them, and how to get people to listen and share your content.

This is a fun and, when run at your offices, a highly practical session – we are currently running this online during lockdown, and so we dont have a practicle session, but are providing a demonstration on how to edit.

You will therefore learn the podcast process from start to finish.

You’ll develop the confidence to produce professional, targeted, effective podcasts, which will help you and your brand/organisation to stand out from the crowd.

How attendees will benefit

  • Format – Deciding the style of podcast best suited to your objectives/messages/content. How to be creative, innovative and memorable. Consideration of pace, length (5 or 60+ minutes) and mood of the piece.
  • Preparation – Understanding your audience and how to reach them. Researching your topic, writing scripts and running orders, selecting content and contributors, plus question tactics to enable you and your guests to tell an engaging, inspiring, entertaining and educational story in 5min-60min of audio or more – whatever is required.
  • Production – How to record your own podcasts or when to bring in the professionals/hire studios
  • Editing – Tips on how to edit your show and the software to use.
  • Hosting – Where to upload your podcasts, so your listeners can easily subscribe and share the content.
  • Distribution – How to gain more listeners and drive engagement with the show.
  • Measurement – Reporting on who is listening, where and for how long, based on the available data.

“I had been starting to experiment with podcasting on behalf of my clients and also for my own business. Attending the ‘Power of Podcasting’ was really confidence boosting. It back-filled some gaps in my knowledge, particularly around technical aspects and kit, plus gave me some ideas for new formats of podcasts that I’d like to try out in the future. Thanks Russ for an inspiring session.”
Rachel Picken Chart PR, Agile PR & Communications Ltd

“As a consumer of podcasts for some time I have been keen to develop my knowledge and skills to produce my own as well as include it in our client offering. Russell’s on-line workshop ticked all the right boxes with tips, advice, real-life examples and a quick guide to kit and audio editing, all delivered at a pace that was easy to follow and understand. This course has given us the belief and knowledge to step up our podcasting ambitions and widen the scope of what we can provide for our clients. Would definitely recommend.”
Kevin Briscoe, Director, Briscoe PR

“When I came up with the idea of starting my ‘Worth A Punt’ sports betting podcast, I thought it would be a very difficult and complicated process. However, after attending Russell’s workshop, I had nothing to worry about. Russell explained what needed to be done from start to finish in an understandable, enjoyable and relaxed manner with none of the jargon I was expecting. I wasn’t sure if a podcast would help my business, but now with Russell’s help, I know it will be a major asset for my business going forward.”
Charlie Mullan, Founder, Worth A Punt Podcast

“There’s more to podcasting that meets the ears. Russell packs so much useful content into his session; it’s obvious why he’s an authority on podcasting. His informal delivery doesn’t detract from his ability to share and teach others what he knows. From planning your podcast, through to examples and demonstrations of the tools and techniques needed to create an amazing aural experience; you’ll have a strong foundation after a workshop with Russell.”
Shavaun Glen, Director – Seen + Heard Communications

“Russ’s podcast workshop is the perfect beginner’s guide to podcasting – it’s packed full of content, but not overwhelmingly or intimidatingly so. And it comes at podcasting from a PR point of view, making it much easier to see its value as a comms tool and it gives you all the ammo you need to sell the idea back into clients. But, perhaps most importantly, it’s like sitting down with a mate and having a three-hour chat. A thoroughly enjoyable Friday morning. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone in comms – internal or agency side.”
Charlie Le Rougetel, Founder & Director, BigTop PR

“The Power of Podcasting online workshop packs a lot of punch into a 2 hour session! Belle Lawrence, Associate Director, Immediate Future

“As a presenter, Russell is fantastic. You can tell he’s worked in the business for a while. His tones and expression are excellent. The session was brilliant and felt like a catch-all for Podcasting 101. I liked how he also touched on decent equipment and also on editing. It was great to hear things from his side and get some of his industry knowledge to add to my own.”
Nick Petrasiti, Systems Support, Oxera

“It’s clear that not only is Russell knowledgeable, but he is also passionate about broadcasting. To combine the expertise required with a genuine interest is one thing, but to be able to impart the guidance in an easy-to-understand and engaging way is what separates him from the rest. I feel much more confident in my podcasting abilities after attending the workshop and will be putting my new-found skills to good use professionally.”
Thomas Harrison-Lord, Digital Marketing Analyst, TYTO PR

“The podcasting workshop was really helpful and laid a good foundation for starting my own. I liked the emphasis on storytelling and building a narrative. It’s clear that he is a highly experienced podcast creator.”
Sharon Davis, Director, Dales PR & Marketing

“Russ’s podcasting workshop was really interactive and provided a practical grounding in how to create an engaging podcast. It was incredibly interesting to find out more about who’s listening to podcasts and when they’re listening. This kind of detailed information is very useful when planning my own podcast. The tips on editing and kit was also invaluable and meant that I knew exactly what equipment would suit my needs. Russ has also been very helpful and supportive with any follow-up queries which I’ve found is unusual for a trainer.”
Hannah Pollak, Senior Account Manager, JBP

“The podcasting course came at the perfect time, as my company is preparing a launch of its own podcast. The small group setup was ideal for the topic. Although having experience in radio, I have learned a lot of new tips in making a podcast, including speaking on a microphone, setup for public spaces, for example at conferences, leading a debate and also using either affordable or more professional equipment. The trainers are experienced and provide practical examples of their work.”
Michal Malysa, Head of PR and Communications, Deloitte Czech Republic
